Uprising Arts is a Bangladesh-based interdisciplinary arts platform exploring the imagination of young people through documentary, film, and performance. We explore how a generation experiences the present, remembers its past, questions its reality, and imagines a better, more inclusive Bangladesh. Through artistic creation, documentation, experimentation, and collaboration, we create spaces for young voices to be heard, stories to be preserved, and new possibilities to emerge.

Explore Films →Uprising Arts was born from a moment of extraordinary energy in Bangladesh, when a generation of young people stepped forward and refused to remain silent. The July 2024 uprising revealed the courage, determination, and collective power of Bangladesh’s youth as they challenged an oppressive political order and stood together for change. Beyond the streets and the events of those days, we witnessed something deeper: a generation awakening to its own voice and its ability to shape the future of its country.
That energy became the inspiration for Uprising Arts.
We felt that the spirit of that moment should not exist only in memory. The voices, experiences, sacrifices, questions, fears, dreams, and hopes of this generation deserve to be documented, explored, and carried forward through art. Uprising Arts emerged from this belief: that art can preserve the memory of a moment while also opening a space to imagine what comes next.
Through documentary, film, performance, and interdisciplinary arts, we seek to explore the experiences of young Bangladeshis and the changing realities around them. We want to listen to the voices behind the headlines, discover the stories within the movement, and understand what this generation has experienced, what it has learned, and what kind of Bangladesh it wants to build.
The July uprising was not the end of a story. For us, it was the beginning of a larger conversation about youth, freedom, identity, memory, society, and the future.
Uprising Arts carries that energy forward, not by trying to recreate a moment, but by giving its spirit new forms of expression.
